NanoCrush

Educational Chemistry Platformer
October 2011

NanoCrush is a traditional 2D platform game level where the player is meant to learn the different chemical reactions produced by the different elements interacting with each other, by means of tangential learning, players will grasp the notion that the element oxygen and helium “repel” each other, that the presence of oxygen causes iron molecules to oxidize and that oxygen and two hydrogen atoms can form a covalent bond becoming H 2O, which is the compound commonly known as water.

The design of this level focus on exploring an anthropomorphisation of the elements of the Periodic Table, the player will have to use the chemical reactions produced by interacting with these elements to solve the level.
